Alright, you asked for it! Here are the spectacular views and scenes from our trip along Northern Ireland's coast! Enjoy!
Goodbye Derry! |
Beautiful scenes during our train ride to Castlerock. |
We have arrived! And so we begin making our way towards the temple. |
Ahhh...good morning Castlerock! Everyone that we passed by on the way there and on the way back greeted us with a smile and a "hello". = ) |
Hiking up towards the temple. I believe we had already chosen the road less traveled... | | | | | | |
hehe = ) | | | | | | | | | |
Ohhh, so that's what the sign was talking about! |
Unreal and surreal. |
Clearly I didn't pay any attention to that sign. = ) |
We found Mussenden Temple, now how do we get over there? |
Oh I see, there is clearly a path over there that will take us to the other side...haha (easier said than done!). By the way, you can also see Downhill Castle and the bell tower in the distance. They are both in a straight line leading from the temple. |
Down we go! |
We made it! |
Anybody in there? |
We couldn't help but just spend a while there looking at the beautiful views. |
Inside Downhill Castle looking at Mussenden Temple. |
I wish I lived here!! |
The other view of Downhill Castle. |
Well, now we have to walk all the way around the trench to get to the bell tower. We did contemplate attempting to jump over it, but we decided that that probably wouldn't end well. haha |
The bell tower opposite Downhill Castle. |
Back on the train heading towards Coleraine. Cows = ) |
Dunluce Castle. |
The view from one of the towers in Dunluce Castle. |
Me in front of Dunluce Castle. |
Heading out of Dunluce Castle. We stopped for one more look at the amazing scenery. |
On our hike to the Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge, we passed by many horses! Of course I had to get pictures. |
I loved seeing them just beginning to peak out over the top of the hill. |
Making our way all the way to that first little island on the right. |
One of the many breathtaking views from the island. |
That island in the background on the left is called Sheep Island. However that would be very strange if sheep lived on that tiny island! |
I just felt the need to whip out my dancing skills. |
Yep, that's the bridge we had to cross!! |
When we were walking back, the horses had made their way down the hill! |
The gorgeous sunset on our train ride back to Derry. |
Well, I hope you enjoyed all the pictures! It was very difficult for me to choose which ones to post since I took about 300 pictures that day! Phew!
I will also be blogging and posting pictures from my recent trip to London as well as the ever promised post about Irish phrases and words. = )
I love the comments and questions. Keep them coming!
Cheers.
Amazing pictures! I'm so glad you are having a great time and seeing so many cool things. (And I'm glad your mom sent me the link to your blog!)
